No two environmental incidents are the same!
Therefore, the services you require may also change.
DEI understands this fact and provides a flexible, scalable service to meet the unique requirements of each incident. Whether it is peer reviewing the work of another company, or providing complete project management services for a remediation. DEI has the knowledge and experience to meet your needs.
At the beginning of each loss DEI will act on your behalf as the engineering consultant. DEI can provide this service because DEI has approval from Professional Engineers Ontario and is a “qualified person” with the Ontario Ministry of Environment (MOE) and the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA). Michael LeBlanc, P.Eng., RPIH at DEI is also a Registered Professional Industrial Hygienist with the Association of Professional Industrial Hygienists. DEI will assess the loss and provide you with a professional opinion so that you have the information you need to make appropriate decisions.
If site work is required DEI can assist by managing all of the project activities as a single point of contact for the client. This includes developing accurate budget estimates and project schedules, co-ordinating contractor work on site, communicating with stakeholders (insured, insurer, MOE, TSSA, MOL), and ensuring project objectives are met.
If you are concerned about the risk of inadvertently putting yourself or someone else into the role of “constructor” according to the Occupational Health and Safety Act, DEI can help. DEI has the experience and is insured to take on the “constructor” role in Ontario. If requested, DEI will issue a Ministry of Labour “Notice of Project” as required, and act as the constructor on behalf of the property owner.
